Snapshot Info: Suffolk, located at the corners of Tremont and Beacon streets and on Beacon Hill, has a truly urban feel and also an historic feel. Originally founded as a law school, it is located up the hill from the State House and Boston Common and provides easy access to Downtown Boston and the Financial District. Its location is terrific for internships in state government or major companies in and around Boston. Suffolk is a major research university. The student body is extremely diverse, as is the faculty. Security seemed very good; for ex. because Daylight Savings time had just gone into effect that weekend, extra notices to be safe at night were posted in every dorm. Views from the dorms were exceptional, overlooking both Boston Common and the Charles River.
